Islamabad: New edition of Adbiyat, the quarterly literary publication of Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has been published. The literary publication was unveiled on Tuesday at the Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, PAL Chairman Junaid Akhlaq said the academy is trying its best to produce literary books which reflect the collective thoughts of Pakistani nation. The 119th volume of Adbiyat for January-March, 2019 contains a mix of prose and poetry of established and budding writers and poets.
Speaking about the publication the PAL chairman said as per past practices the magazine contains hamd, naat, salaam, ghazlain, short stories, novels, as well as literary works written in Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Brahvi, Balochi, Potohari, Saraiki, Kashmiri and Hindko languages. Translation from international literature has also been included in the publication.
Dr Rashid Hameed, Director-General of the Academy is the Managing Editor and Akhtar Raza Saleemi is the editor of the journal.
The advisory committee of this journal includes Dr Tauseef Tabassum, Dr Iqbal Aafaqi, Muhammad Hameed Shahid and Dr Waheed Ahmed.
The title of the 296-page journal has been designed by artist Sumayya Saad. Its price is Rs100. The volume is available at major book shops, PAL’s own book shop and regional offices.
