PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been nearing to follow on as another wicket gone for a duck with former Provincial Minister Dr Hisham Inamullah announcing quitting the party.

He announced this at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday. As the tumbling continued, it was certainly another blow to the PTI line-up from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with one after another announced quitting the party.

In a press conference, Dr Hisham announced his separation from PTI and said: “I am feeling disgraceful to be part of the PTI and decided to quit immediately.”

Hisham was known for the anti-establishment narrative of Imran Khan for the past 10 months. The former provincial minister was also saddened by the incidents of May 9 and the desecration of the martyrs’ statues.

There were also talks about his differences in the party as he had also lodged complaints about Ali Amin Gandapur’s interference in his constituency which revealed clear differences between him and Ghandapur.

The former health minister said that looking after the current political scenario, and damages to public and private properties and to militant installations by violent protesters on May 9 he could not remain silent in such circumstances.

“I thank the people of Lakki Marwat and the nation for reposing confidence in him and it was because of the love of people that I got the most votes in 2018,” Dr Inamullah disclosed.

“In the local bodies, in the entire Lakky Marwat I won 3 Tehsil seats because of the people’s support for which I am very thankful to the people of Lakky Marwat,” Inamullah said.

Being a political worker, he said, he had 2 agendas, reforms and providing facilities to the common man. He said despite changing his ministry in 2019 he tried his hardest to serve the people of the area who voted for him and the party.

About his differences, he said, political differences happen in every party and he faced that by carrying his two points agenda – reforms and providing facilities to the people of my constituency.

“I did not come into politics for ministries,” Inamullah clarified, adding, “I am a seeker of honor.” The reason for joining PTI was talking for justice, he said, adding, “I was determined that this would be my first and last party.

“I always tried to solve problems through reconciliation and negotiation and we cannot be disloyal to those who have taken the responsibility of defending the country,” Hisham Inamullah said.

He said, the security agencies have given matchless sacrifices for the protection of the motherland and fought with bravery by safeguarding Pakistan in which we live, so how can we think and overcome such sacrifices being rendered by our security forces? May 9 is a dark day in which martyrs were desecrated, Inamullah said.

“Effigies of Colonel Sher Khan, Major Aziz Bhatti, Jinnah House, Radio Pakistan, APP Office Peshawar were burnt, and the attack on GHQ and other military and civil installations was a dream of our enemies but it was fulfilled by our own hands,” Hisham Inamullah said.

“This is reprehensible and unpardonable and I consider it an insult to be associated with PTI,” Hisham Inamullah said, adding, “Today I resigned from PTI.” “I cannot stand for a moment with those who have come down on enmity with the country,” he said.

He made it clear that he is not taking such a decision under anyone’s pressure. “I will die but stand firm on my principles and this is my decision, the decision of my conscience,” he said. “This is my country, my army, and every day they are martyrs for us, they are kind to us and I don’t want my name to be written in history as a traitor,” Hisham Inamullah informed.

“I do not want to join the ranks of traitors and I am among those Pashtuns who stood up for Pakistan and its forces in difficult times,” he added. “If Imran Khan had condemned May 9 and apologized, I would not have taken this decision,” he said, adding, “I would not have left PTI if Imran Khan had placed flowers on the memorials of the martyrs and visited them but unfortunately, he stuck to his position and I truly pray for him.”

“I am grateful to Parvez Khattak, Imran Khan, and Jahangir Tareen,” he said. Answering a question, he said, the Saifullah brothers are considering contesting elections from his platform this time so there can be an alliance with mainstream parties.

The number of PTI leaders to quit the party in the aftermath of the May 9 violence increased to six on Thursday after Malik Amin Aslam, Dr Muhammad Amjad, and Dr Imran Ali Shah announced their decision to part ways with the party.

Earlier, on Wednesday, three leaders, including former federal minister Aamer Mehmood Kiani, MNA from Karachi Mahmood Baqi Moulvi, and MPA in Sindh Assembly Dr Sanjay Gangwani, Iqbal Wazeer also announced their decisions to part ways with the Imran Khan-led party.

On the other hand ex Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Shandana Gulzar from Peshawar says that those who are parting ways with PTI must have taken this decision under some pressure because according to her, PTI is the only political party in the country no one leaves voluntarily.

She condemned the incidents that took place on May 9 and said that we are human beings and sometimes human beings make mistakes, but anyone who parts ways with PTI will be a political loss in the future. will raise because the country has no future for parties other than PTI.

She advised that it is better to leave politics than to leave the party. Of course, there are difficulties at this time, but the leaders and leaders of the party will soon control the situation in the upcoming elections, not only in the center but also in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They will form their own governments in the provinces and those who leave the party will forever regret their decisions
